It's All About The Mouse

Okay, I promised you pictures of Gage's birthday and I finally got them downloaded. Forgive me for being late. All you moms know how busy you can get.

----------------------------------------------

This past weekend was my nephew Gage's birthday. We had a wonderful outdoor party at my Grandma Foster's house. She can't get out and about much, so it was nice to have it there so she could share in the celebration. Well, Gage loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. And I agree with my sister, "I have never seen so much stuff that is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!" He got a lawn chair with Mickey on it, a sleeping bag with a Mickey pillow, books, and clothes. My sister made the cake which I thought was amazing!! Just look at the picture! I couldn't have done it. Way to go Wendy!!! Anyways, I think Gage enjoyed himself. He got lots of toys and couldn't wait to open them. That night at mom and dad's he was able to open one gift and play with it. Surprisingly (to me anyways) he picked a Bob the Builder hat and tool belt. It was pretty neat, but I was for sure that he would have picked something Mickey. Oh, did I mention he got a tent!!?? With Mickey on it!!?? I bet he had a blast with that at home.

So, if Gage is reading this with mommy... Happy Birthday!! We love you!!

"Oh money!" -he liked the money!!

Kids can make a toy out of anything!! (it's ribbon!)

Sleeping Update

It only took Ellie ten minutes tonight to fall asleep on her own!! YEAH!!! And, you won't believe this, Josh actually did not go in there to rescue her!!! He let her do it. I was so proud of him. I know he couldn't stand it!

I'm just so glad that the time is getting shorter each night. Does this mean it will be 5 minutes tomorrow night?

Falling asleep

Tonight I let Ellie fall asleep on her own. I have been wanting to do this (mainly because she needs to start learning how). I have been taking the easy way out and just rocking her to sleep every night. Then I would gently get out of the rocking chair, slowly walk into her bedroom, gently lay her down, keep my head touching hers while patting her back, and slowly take my hands away so I will not wake her. That's may routine every night!

Tonight I had the opportunity to let her cry it out without Josh here to be her "knight in shinning armor". Let me explain: Ellie has, in the past, woke up at 3 in the morning and would not go back to sleep. I would get Josh up and let him try to help. He would eventually get frustrated (like me) and would put her in her bed to cry it out. He would last about 2 minutes, then have to go in there to get her. Since he was not here tonight (out with buddies) I decided to give it a try. I felt soooo bad for letting her scream (and I mean SCREAM) but I knew I had to do it. I went on with doing my other nightly routines (bottle washing, formula making, fixing her bag for next day). After about 15 minutes, her screams became whines. By 20 minutes, she was asleep. I went in and checked on her and she had gotten her blanket (it was laying on the side of her crib at the end) and was snuggling with. It also looked like she was sucking her thumb or the blanket; I couldn't tell. I felt so bad for making her do that. I hope she still loves me in the morning. I just kept starting at her sleeping and I apologized for making her do that (I guess I thought she could hear and understand me). I kissed her goodnight and finished my other stuff around the house.

I am so proud of myself and Ellie that I had to write about it. I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear but its my life right now. Look on here tomorrow to see Gage's 3rd Birthday party pictures!!!

Sleeping baby

I have been trying to figure out how to take a picture of her while sleeping, but with the fear of waking her up, I haven't ever tried. I finally got one yesterday morning. This is how she has been sleeping lately. We will lay her down on he side but she has been rolling over the last few weeks.

I know what your are thinking... Kelly you are not suppose to have anything in the crib because she could suffocate.

Well, if you want to come and sit with her all night be my guest. She has to have something touching her head. I guess it makes her feel like we are still holding her. I started putting the boppy pillow in there because I think it makes her feel like she is sleeping with us. Same reason for the gator.

Now, I wish (and really trying) she would sleep through the night!!!!

Ellie at 7 months

We went to the doctor Friday and Ellie weighs 15 lbs 14 oz and is 27 in long. The doctor said she is growing perfectly! She had her shots, which of course was not fun. She has been soooo whinny all weekend! She won't sleep and won't eat like she use to. I hope that it hurries and gets over with. I can't stand her like this!!!

Anyways, she has started to learn to crawl (military crawl). She will get up on her knees but then she can't figure out how to go forward. One bad thing we learned at the doctors office is that she doesn't need to be using her walker. The doctor said that it can teach her to walk on her toes, so we have to limit her time it in. It's bad because she lovveeessss it!!! She will go all over the place with it.

Well, I don't have much to say today (probably because the lack of sleep!). I will update you guys another day!

Playing with the camera

Just played around with the camera the other day. Thought I would share with you more pictures of Ellie! The first one is my FAVORITE!!!!

"I didn't do it!?!?"

As me and Josh were trying to watch a movie last night, Ellie decided that she wanted to read a magazine. It kept her quite so I didn't mind. After a few minutes, I looked at her to see if she was okay and what she was doing. This is what I found:

Since we photograph everything (and I mean everything!) Ellie won't be able to say "I didn't do it." We have it in pictures to prove it!

Future Musician?

Ellie has started to swing her arms up and down like she is either hitting somebody or conducting an orchestra. I wanted to buy some toys that when she would hit them they do something. But I just can't spend alot of money on toys that she may or may not play with. Well, I got to thinking the other day that I bet she would like my keyboard. She loved it!!!! She instantly started hitting the keys. When it made a sound, which kinda startled her at first, she would hit even faster! Here are some pictures of her playing. I also have a video, that if I can figure out a way to get it off my tapes, I will post.

Ellie and Cousin Gage

My nephew Gage doesn't come around but every two weeks because my sister is on call every other weekend. When they do come home, we like to go and spend some time with them. Gage has developed into Ellie's big brother. He is a wonderful helper! He loves to help get, and throw away diapers. He laughed like crazy at her this weekend when she made her "face" and when she talked. I would ask him what she said and he would say, "lalalala, dadada." Your right Gage, that is what she said. Well, I actually remembered to take my camera this time and I got some pictures.

Playing together.

Gage loves to give Ellie hugs!!
Talking to each other! (my favorite)

My Personal Chef

Well, after a little difficulty with our card reader, I have finally downloaded like 50 pictures I wanted to share with you. So there are several post for today.

-----------------------------------------
Josh has decided that he is a chef. Now, don't get me wrong, I have noooo problem with him cooking for me. What girl wouldn't like her HUSBAND to come home from work and cook dinner? I love it! My only problem is he likes to use every bowl and utensil in our kitchen! But, he does usually clean up after himself. Well, last night he decided that he wanted nachos for dinner. He was so proud of his masterpiece I jokingly told him to take a picture of it. He did! So to show off his masterpiece, here are his pictures.

And YES, he did eat it all!

The FACE

Ok, we finally got the picture of her face! I love it! She does this all the time now!! You really can't get the full effect without hearing her (she breathes really hard and fast), but I think you will enjoy the pictures!!
